If you’re looking for a new Android smartphone then the recently released LG G4 is up there with the best. There are quite a few standout features on this new smartphone, but it is the 16 megapixel camera featuring a f/1.8 aperture that takes centre stage. That, and the tanned leather back casing that is a first in the smartphone market. All in all, the LG G4 is able to truly differentiate itself from the thousands of other smartphones out there.
Serious Snappers Front and Back
So if you hold a smartphone’s camera in high regard you will undoubtedly look upon the LG G4 approvingly. The selfie camera has a powerful 8 megapixel camera and a f/2.0 aperture. The main camera, a 16 megapixel shooter, has optical image stabilization 2.0 (OIS 2.0) which seriously boosts the performance of the camera. OIS 2.0 extends the range of stabilization to 2 degrees and also adds a third axis to stabilize on. It even has a manual mode so that you can create your very own perfect shot, and to top it off you can record images in RAW format.
In a bold move by LG, they have decided to add a leather back to their G4. While this does nothing for the performance of the phone under the hood, it’s a precedent that they have set. No other phone manufacturers have released smartphones with leather casing, so it will be interesting to see how well this is received. That said, they still have a plastic back version for customers who want to stick with what they know.
Tech Specs and the Rest
The LG G4 has a 5.5 inch touchscreen display with 1400 x 2560 pixels resolution, and features a Snapdragon 808 chipset with a six-core processor. It is the first smartphone to feature this new processor. The phone also comes with 100GB of storage on Google Drive, which is quite a selling point, considering Apple only offer their customers 5GB on iCloud. The LG G4 will sell at $649 for the plastic back version, and $699 for the leather back version.
